Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara Upon arrival in Nairobi you are met and later depart via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch at Mara Leisure Camp. After lunch, go for an afternoon game drive till dusk.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Leisure Camp/ Mara Sopa Lodge / Mara Simba Lodge/ Sarova Mara Camp.
Day 2 & 3 : Maasai Mara 0630 hrs - early morning game drive in the Mara. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
The Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife reserve. Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight. Birds, too, are prolific. Including migrants, well over 450 species have been recorded, among them, 57 species of birds of prey.
The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well-spread rainfall year round. Rain, when it falls almost always chooses the late afternoon or night. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the sensation is unparalleled. You spend the rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch at the lodge you proceed at 1600 hrs for an afternoon game drive till dusk.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Leisure Camp/ Mara Sopa Lodge / Mara Simba Lodge/ Sarova Mara Camp.
Day 4: Maasai Mara - Nakuru After breakfast, proceed towards Lake Nakuru arriving at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch go for afternoon game drive until sunset.
Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink.
The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, water buck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here. After lunch go for afternoon game drive until sunset.
Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge / Flamingo Hill Camp.
Day 5: Nakuru - Nairobi - Lamu After breakfast return to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Upon arrival proceed to Carnivore Restaurant for Lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lamu. Upon arrival in Lamu you will be met and transferred to Petley's Inn.
Dinner and overnight Petley's Inn/ Lamu Palace Hotel.
Day 6: Lamu Spend the days enjoying activities at the finest beach of Lamu and leisurely pace of life at the Kenyan coast. Dinner and overnight at Petley's Inn / Lamu Palace Hotel.
Day 7: Lamu - Nairobi After breakfast you will be free (depending on flight booking) to check out. You will be transferred to Mombasa Airport /Lamu Airstrip for flight back to Nairobi.
