Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Pick up on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on arrival and to The Norfolk Hotel. You are received with a complimentary welcome cocktail, bouquet of flowers and checked in at honeymooners suite on all meals.
Day 2: Nairobi- Mt. Kenya Pick up from your hotel at 0800 hrs – After breakfast, depart for Mountain Lodge in Mt. Kenya National Park. You will drive through Kikuyu countryside pass near Thika which boasts the world's third largest pineapple plantation and Karatina the second largest open air market in Africa. You will arrive Serena Mountain Lodge (tree hotel) in time for lunch. Relax in the afternoon as you watch game from the balcony of the lodge, with an optional guided nature/forest walk. Overnight floodlit game viewing. Dinner and overnight at the tree hotel.
Day 3 : Mt. Kenya – Sweetwater’s. Breakfast then proceed to Sweet Waters Tented Camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the private sanctuary (Sweetwaters Game Reserve), This very special 23,000 acre wildlife sanctuary was originally established to protect and breed highly-endangered Black Rhinos. In 1994 the Jane Goodall Institute established the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary within the game reserve and moved a large group of chimps here from the unstable situation, the only one of its kind in Kenya. You will also visit Morani the tame rhino and the Visitors Information Centre. Return to Sweetwaters Tented Camp for dinner and overnight. Sweetwater’s is the only sanctuary for rehabilitation in Kenya of these widely abused chimpanzees with two groups living in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. The site is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area.
Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru National park Breakfast then depart the lodge for Lake Nakuru National park arriving in good time for lunch at a Lodge. Full afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara Drive to via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch at Mara Sarova Lodge. Full afternoon game drive till dusk. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
Day 6: Maasai Mara Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big 5- Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 395 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at Sarova Mara. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. Day 7 : Maasai Mara -Nairobi – Mombasa After a leisurely breakfast, return to Nairobi drop off at the airport to catch your evening flight to Mombasa to start your Romanic beach vacation. Overnight stay at The Sarova White sands hotel.
Day 8/9 : Mombasa Days spent on your own at the beach resort sunbathing and Scuba diving.
Day 10 : Mombasa- Nairobi – departure Transfer to Moi international airport to board your Nairobi bound flight connecting with your home bound flight.
