Itinerary Summary This is a 7 days safari, you will visiting all the 4 most popular northern parks namely, Lake Manyara, 2 nights at Serengeti National Park, which is Tanzania's oldest park, and one of the world's last great wildlife refuges . It shares the same ecosystem with Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve and stretches as far as Lake Victoria to the West. Serengeti name comes from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning 'endless plains' . 2 nights at Ngorongoro the largest crater in the world has been declared a World Heritage Site. The volcanic crater is jam-packed with wildlife, including all the big game. Its pride and joy however is that it remains the last great world refuge for black Rhino. Finally to Tarangire National park famous for tree climbing pythons. Accommodation is at luxurious Serena Lodges and Tarangire Sopa Lodge.
Itinerary Description Day 1: Arusha-Lake Manyara Depart Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport and then proceed to Lake Manyara Park. Lake Manyara National Park is the cleavage known as the Great Rift Valley and can be identified from space as the most distinctive feature of the continent. The seam of this cleavage has developed a series of fascinating and beautiful lakes. Also referred as an ornithologists paradise with over 400 bird species. The variety of habitats, zebras, buffalos, wildebeests, blue monkeys, velvet monkeys, hippos and tree-climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at L.Manyara Serena Lodge. Day 2: Lake Manyara-Serengeti After breakfast, Morning game drive in Manyara Park, a park dotted with exotic trees such as the giant fig, baobab and mahogany and famous for lions that sprawl on trees (though rare these days). Depart after lunch for Serengeti National Park arriving Serengeti Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight. Approx transit time: 4 hrs Meal Plan: B, L, D
Day 3: Serengeti National Park Full day in Serengeti. Morning and afternoon game drives in the rolling grasslands studded with wildlife for as far as the eye can see. All meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge. Meal Plan: B, L, D
Day 4: Serengeti/Ngorongoro After a morning game drive, leiusure time, depart after lunch and transfer to Ngorongoro conservation via Olduvai Gorge for a short visit of the museum. Olduvai Gorge was made famous by the Leaky family who began their paleontological excavations here in 1931. Abundant fossil material dating back more that a million years, including hominid remains of Zinjanthropes bossei, have been discovered here Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour After breakfast descend down to the crater floor for ½ day crater tour, returning to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure with optional visit to a local Maasai village. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal Plan: B, L, D Pls note: Only ½ day tours may be allowed at the crater.
Day 6: Ngorongoro-Tarangire National Park Depart Ngorongoro after breakfast and drive to Tarangire Nat. Park arriving Tarangire Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Approx transit time: 2½ hrs Meal Plan: B, L, D
